It will be a great surprise-ganker. And a decent finisher weapon.
I will try it out for sure. Mostly because it looks like a hair dryer of doom.

Its like a Scrambler Rifle..
Semi auto and charge shot. Charge shot to the enemies head when you get the jump on them.
The AR was a great weapon with the damage profile it has, before it got shafted..
Lets wait and see... The Scrambler pistol now has lower RoF than IP.

What I mean is that it is a sidearm that functions like the scrambler rifle.
Single shot charge or semi auto fire.
Cat Merc seems to think you have to charge this weapon and overheat with every shot, that is not right.

Okay some facts from the SDE (http://www.stuff514.com/sde/type/365573) coolDownTimeIfOverheated3.5 heatCostPerSecond5.0 overheatIntensity2.0 feedbackDamage0.0 maximumHeat100.0
If you compare this with the scrambler rifle (semi auto) stats (http://www.stuff514.com/sde/type/355697): coolDownTimeIfOverheated5.0 heatCostPerSecond60.0 overheatIntensity2.0 heatCostPerSecond5.0 overheatIntensity2.0
It has the similar heat characteristics, but it has a lot lower heat cost per second.
Will it overheat in one shot? Dont know. CCP has to answer that.
One theory: The reduce charge skill will actually reduce overheat too, since you will charge up the pistol faster. Hence less heat per second is summed up.

Cat Merc seems to think you have to charge this weapon and overheat with every shot, that is not right. It is right. After any charged shot, the IP will overheat. Straight away. That's a gigantic difference from the SCR, where the key to victory is often the follow-up volley.
Have you tried this weapon or? Because it has a lot less heat generated per second than the SCR.
"By overriding internal temperature controls, the weapon can be overcharged to produce a focused, bulk discharge of sufficient lethality to instantly neutralize most soft targets. Caution is advised however, as each overcharged shot will shut down internal systems until the excess heat can be flushed from the weaponGÇÖs core."
Says nothing about the weapon itself shutting down, only about the "internal systems" which is kind of vague.

Caution is advised however, as each overcharged shot will shut down internal systems until the excess heat can be flushed from the weaponGÇÖs core." It is going to overheat after each charged shot and will probably have an animation of it venting the heat from its cyclotron.
But you can charge for different amount of time right? The weapon starts to charge when you press the mouse. With your logic each shot overheat the pistol. There has to be something more to it.
Can this weapon even store the charge shot, or is it more like a plasma cannon? I think it will be like a plasma cannon.

Iron Wolf Saber wrote:What's this burst fire 5 shot thing doing on a single shot weapon?
I thought it was that the big shot is being fired as 5 small bursted shots, but dont know..
Do you know how the overheat works on this gun IWS? Or could you ask CCP for a clarification?

Iron Wolf Saber wrote:based on the sde partial charge shots wont work; and you cannot overheat the pistol under normal firing circumstances.
Exactly like I thought.
There will be a "plasma cannon like" shot, which can be held. And the pistol overheats immidiately when you release it?
The important question is: Does it overheat like the ScR or the Officer AR? You can switch weapons if the officer AR overheats right?
If its not possible to switch weapons after overheat, the charge shot will be a finishing shot. Dont know how good the weapon will be in that case, perhaps it will just be useable as a silly looking hair dryer?

The Balac's GAR-21 Assault Rifle does not have a Seize. :(
I guess this weapons charge shot will be pretty underwhelming then?
